1. Considerations for the forging process;
Whether forging dies are used in drop forging or in press forging, the hardness requirements are different, and thus the required materials are also different. Forging dies can operate in press forging with high hardness because they experience less impact force. However, the heat generated in a stamping machine is usually high, so a slightly higher alloy content is used.

For all welding processes, the composition of the base material is an important consideration. During forging, most of the iron can be welded, so the information about the base material composition not only provides an answer to whether it is weldable, but more importantly, it can take into account the entire process and potential issues that may arise.
